Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure aimed at correcting minor defects in the shape and contours of the nose without resorting to surgical methods.You must clearly understand the results that can be achieved using this technique.Any serious defect, curvature of the nasal septum or reduction of the nose - all this falls within the scope of corrective surgical cosmetology.
Procedure options
Modern plastic surgery offers a wide range of methods for correcting both large and subtle defects.The search for solutions to these problems began a long time ago.More and more new tools are constantly being developed.Older methods are disappearing from the arsenal of practicing cosmetologists and plastic surgeons.

Today, rhinoplasty without surgery can be performed using the following methods:
- Fillers.
- Son.
- Hormonal medications.
- Longuet.
The choice of one or another method for changing the shape of the nose without surgery depends on a fairly wide set of factors.First of all, you need to clearly define your goals, specifically describe the defect you are interested in and the desired result.The doctor selects the most effective non-surgical rhinoplasty method (if possible).
A thorough medical history is collected, the presence of hypersensitivity reactions to certain medications and information on concomitant diseases is collected.Based on the synthesis of all the information received, a decision is made on the tactics of dealing with the problem.Non-surgical rhinoplasty of the nose can solve a fairly large number of problems, but is not a radical method.
This is due to several reasons:
- the methods used are only capable of correcting small defects;
- Most of the options that can be offered produce a temporary effect, that is, they require repeated manipulations.
However, it also has enormous advantages over surgical methods.It is also the duration of the intervention, which rarely lasts more than half an hour.And a very short recovery period (a few days maximum).Correction of defects is not accompanied by any significant pain.
A separate indication for non-surgical correction of the nose is the correction of certain "defects" that could not be changed during plastic surgery.
Application of loads
The term “fillers” refers to special substances used in a procedure called “nose reshaping.”There are currently 2 main groups of fillers: resorbable and non-resorbable.However, more and more people are moving away from the latter group.
The main charges are:
- Preparations based on hyaluronic acid.
- Collagen-based preparations of various origins.
- Preparations based on mineral compounds – calcium hydroxyapatite.
- Preparations based on artificially synthesized organic substances.
- Non-resorbable fillers: silicone implants and lipofilling.
Correction of the shape of the nose using fillers is carried out as follows:
- the problem area is assessed based on a number of parameters;
- the most suitable correction method is selected;
- The filler is injected to the required depth using a special needle.
The administered amount of the substance is quite sufficient to correct minor defects in soft tissues and the cartilaginous skeleton.In most cases, the procedure is preceded by local anesthesia.For this purpose, so-called topical anesthesia is used (a special gel containing a local anesthetic is applied to the skin of the nose, bridge of the nose and adjacent areas).
After 30 minutes, skin sensitivity to pain is completely lost.After completing the main stage of the procedure, it is recommended to wear a special splint for 24-48 hours, which prevents displacement of the filler and unnecessary trauma.
Despite the fact that non-surgical correction of the nose is carried out very quickly, in order to avoid unwanted effects and consolidate the result, you must adhere to a number of rules within 14 days:
- Do not be exposed to local or general exposure to high temperatures.It is necessary to avoid visiting public baths, sauna and solarium.
- Stay in the sun as little as possible.And if necessary, use sunscreen.
- Any mechanical impact on the nasal area (cosmetic manipulation, massage) is strictly prohibited.
- Avoid drinking alcohol, the breakdown products of which in the body can interact with the filler and disrupt its shape.
Hyaluronic acid and collagen
Hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of the intercellular substance of connective tissue, including the skin.It gives it properties such as elasticity and softness.
This is due to the structure of the molecule of this acid: there are a large number of hydrophilic (water-attracting) branches that saturate the liquid injection site.So, after hyaluronic acid penetrates the thickness of the skin, water molecules accumulate, which leads to a slight local increase in the volume of the treated tissues.
This is the basis for the use of these drugs, with which you can change the shape of the nose without surgical intervention.Since the drugs of this group are in the form of a gel, which can be given the necessary properties immediately after administration, this allows the beautician to give the nose the necessary shape.
Immediately after administration of the drug into the skin, slight swelling of the tissues occurs.A small hematoma may form.In most cases, these side effects are subtle and hardly attract attention.Usually, the swelling disappears completely within 4 to 7 days without a trace.
Contraindications to the administration of hyaluronic acid preparations are:
- inflammatory processes in the injection area;
- infectious diseases;
- diseases accompanied by a decrease in blood clotting;
- severe diabetes mellitus of any type;
- period of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Another type of filler are preparations containing collagen.It is also a normal component of the skin, giving it strength and elasticity.Normally, it is produced by connective tissue cells - fibroblasts, but with age, this substance "ages" and the skin loses its former properties.
Collagen, which reduces visible skin defects, can be bovine or human.Preference should be given to the second, since bovine protein is a foreign substance for the body and much more often causes unwanted effects (severe swelling, pain, itching, burning, rejection and suppuration).Therefore, in order to avoid unexpected reactions, before administering drugs based on bovine collagen, an allergy test should be carried out.
A large number of products have been created based on human collagen to perform rhinoplasty without surgery.These drugs have an undeniable advantage.Human collagen does not have such a pronounced reactogenic activity in relation to the immune system, therefore it can be used without prior allergy testing.
Each of the preparations based on human collagen has certain characteristics.Correction of the nose without surgery with these drugs is carried out according to the same principle as substances containing hyaluronic acid.
Hormonal drugs
The most commonly used synthetic analogues of adrenal hormones are glucocorticoids.It has been found that these hormonal drugs can cause the destruction of soft and cartilage tissues at the site of their administration.This is used to correct small bumps on the nose.
However, the use of this group of drugs takes several weeks and requires extreme caution and firmness from the doctor, since an incorrectly selected dose or incorrect administration of the drug can make the defect even more visible.
It should also be taken into account that hormonal drugs have a number of special contraindications.They should not be administered in the presence of local inflammation or an active herpetic process, severe diabetes mellitus or any infectious diseases.Additionally, glucocorticoids should not be administered in the presence of fungal infections.This is because hormones suppress immune responses that normally inhibit the development of pathogenic fungi.
The use of hormonal drugs during pregnancy and breastfeeding is strictly prohibited, as these substances can penetrate the placental barrier and into milk.
Cosmetic threads
A technique for using cosmetic threads has been developed, based on the introduction of threadlike structures into the skin and tightening the necessary areas with their help.This method allows you to raise the tip of the nose that is too curved downwards, and to correct the contours of the wings and the back of the nose.

There are several important points in the action of cosmetic threads:
- Over time, the threads dissolve, allowing them to be corrected later (if necessary).
- Since the thread is a foreign body, a natural response to its penetration into the internal environment of the body occurs - the development of connective tissue.This fabric remains even after the thread is absorbed.So the effect persists for a long time, and in some cases forever.
- The material from which they are made does not cause allergic reactions.
It is important that cosmetic threads can significantly change the contour (profile) of the nose without surgical intervention.This cannot be achieved by other nose correction methods.
Despite all the advantages, using threads can cause certain complications:
- suppuration;
- inadequate inflammatory response;
- wire breakage;
- curvature of the nose.
Application of splints
The splint is a plastic device, selected and designed according to individual needs.This device allows you to both reduce your nose without surgery and slightly modify its shape.

An important advantage of this method is that there is no need to damage the skin, which completely eliminates the risk of infection.The downside is that you have to wear splints for a long time.A noticeable effect may only appear after a few months.
If the reflection in the mirror is not always satisfactory, but there is no desire to undergo surgical intervention, modern cosmetological science can offer many methods for correcting small defects.
